Press & media
Pandwijzer provides a first home-value estimate for Belgian properties using official transaction data, property signals and visible source lines. This page explains what we can supply, how we approach comparisons and how to reach us.
Where the numbers come from
Medians and benchmarks draw on the Fednot property barometer, Statbel and geo.be, with date labels as on municipality pages. We state reference year and sample size where available.
What we can supply
Per-municipality summaries, trend tables where Fednot references exist, aggregated product figures and a benchmark sheet to compare Pandwijzer with other tools. No individual address data - we work with aggregated official statistics.
Current figures we can contextualise
These snapshots come from aggregated Pandwijzer reports and our public datasets. They are useful as a starting point for newsroom work, always with an as-of date and clear caveats.

Comparing with competitors
If you want to compare tools, do it on real listings with the same input for every tool. Use one fixed sample and report error margins, not just isolated screenshots.
- Select 50 to 100 listings across region, property type and price bracket.
- For each listing, log the asking price, Pandwijzer range, confidence and the range or score from every other tool.
- Later add the observed sale price, or the best available proxy, and calculate median absolute error and hit rate inside the range.
- Also publish where the sample is weaker: few transactions, renovation stock or broad municipality-level fallbacks.
Possible story angles
Lead with a data angle rather than a product launch. These hooks work best when paired with source year, sample notes and clear caveats.
- • What is your home really worth? Belgian estimate tools compared on real figures.
- • Why the same home can differ by tens of thousands online depending on the tool.
- • When an online home estimate is useful - and when it is not.
- • What public transaction data can and cannot tell you about your street or municipality.
